Netherurd House, a plain three-story mansion, with well-wooded grounds, in Kirkurd parish, W Peeblesshire, 2¾ miles SSE of Dolphinton station and 71/8 NE of Biggar. The estate was purchased in 1834 for £18, 000 by the late John White, Esq. (1808-80), who held 6376 acres in Peebles and Lanark shires, valued at £2255 per annum.Ord. Sur., sh. 24, 1864.
