This unit has been constructed for statistical reporting purposes only. It has no legal existence.
The Registrar General's Decennial Supplement for 1861-70 provided merged statistics for the two separate districts of FARNHAM and FARNBOROUGH. No reason is given, but this was presumably because Farnborough was abolished in 1869 and the major part went to Farnham.
