In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Inch like this:

Inch, par., mid. co. Down, on river Quoile, 2 miles N. of Downpatrick, 6509 ac., pop. 1442; has remains of a Cistercian abbey, at Inniscourcy, in Lough Strangford.
