In 1837, Samuel Lewis's Topographical Dictionary of Ireland described Lickfinn like this:
LICKFINN, a parish, in the barony of SLIEVARDAGH, county of TIPPERARY, and province of MUNSTER, 3 ¼ miles (N. E.) from Killenaule; containing 464 inhabitants. It is a rectory and vicarage, in the diocese of Cashel, and forms part of the, union of Killenaule; the tithes amount to £27. 12.
