NESS, a wapentake in the Parts of Kesteven, Lincolnshire; bounded, on the N, by Aveland and Beltisloe, on the E, by the Parts of Holland, on the S, by Northamptonshire, on the W, by Rutlandshire; and containing Baston parish, eleven other parishes, and part of Deeping fen. Acres, 47, 391. Pop. in 1851, 10, 567; in 1861, 7, 450. Houses, 1, 645.
