SWELL, a parish in Langport district, Somerset; 4 miles SW of Langport r. station. Post town, Taunton. Acres, with West Sedgmoor, 891. Rated property, £1,230. Pop., 110. Houses, 19. The manor belongs to J. S. Drax, Esq. The living is a vicarage, annexed to Fivehead. The church was repaired in 1859.
