CHEVET, a township in Roystone parish, W. R. Yorkshire; adjacent to the North Midland railway, 3½ miles S by E of Wakefield. Acres, 850. Real property, £1, 394. Pop., 58. Houses, 7. Chevet House is the seat of the baronet family of Pilkington.
