The manor belongs to the Duke of Marlborough. W. House is the seat of J. Betterton, Esq. Remains of a Roman camp are at Alchester. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Oxford. Value, £300.* Patron, Christchurch, Oxford. The church, excepting the tower, was rebuilt in 1762. Charities, £6.
