The village stands on the Norwich and Yarmouth railway, near the river Yare, 2¾ miles W of Brundall r. station, and 4 E by S of Norwich; and has a post-office under Norwich. The parish comprises 1, 426acres, besides a marsh of 356 acres lying near Yarmouth. Real property, £3, 699. Pop., 291. Houses, 58. The manor and most of the land belong to the Earl of Rosebery. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich. Gross value, £561.* Patron, the Earl of Rosebery. The church is ancient, with a fine tower; and was re-stored in 1866. Charities, £16.
