RANBY, a hamlet in Babworth and Blyth parishes, Notts; on the Chesterfield canal, near the river Ryton, 3¼ miles W N W of East Retford. It has a post-office under Retford. R. Hall is the seat of the Ladies Clinton; and R. House of J. Champion, Esq.
