BROUGH, a township in Catterick parish, N. R. Yorkshire; on the river Swale, 5 miles ESE of Richmond. Acres, 1,082. Real property, £1,950. Pop., 128. Houses, 15. An ancient hospital stood here, founded about the time of Edward I. Brough Hall is the seat of the Lawsons. There is a Roman Catholic chapel.
