Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Battle-Fauld

Battle-Fauld, a spot near Haddo mill in Crimond parish, Aberdeenshire. Tradition marks it as the scene of the combat between Sir James the Rose and Sir John the Græmc, fatal to the former, and commemorated in the well-known ballad of ` Sir James the Rose. '
