Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Bangour

Bangour, an estate in Ecclesmachan parish, Linlithgowshire, in the western vicinity of Uphall. It belonged for many generations to the Hamiltons, and gave designation to the distinguished Scottish poet William Hamil ton (1704-54), author of the Braes of Yarrow. It is now the seat of Geo. Mitchell-Innes, Esq.
