KESTEVEN (PARTS OF), a division of Lincolnshire; bounded on the N and the NE by the Parts of Lindsey; on the S, by Northamptonshire; on the SW, by Rutlandshire; on the W, by Leicestershire and Notts. Its length, from N to S, is 41 miles; its greatest breadth is 24¾ miles; and its area is 462, 540 acres. It contains the wapentakes of Aswardhurn, Aveland, Beltisloe, Boothby-Graffo, Flaxwell, Langoe, Loveden, Ness, and Winnibriggs and Threo. Pop. in 1851, 95, 234; in 1861, 91, 757. Houses, 19, 068.
