Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for LEOMINSTER CANAL

LEOMINSTER CANAL, a canal in Herefordshire and Worcestershire; from Leominster windingly north-eastward, past Tenbury, to the collieries near Mamble. It was formed at the end of last century; is 46 miles long; rises 496 feet, and falls 48 feet; and passes over the river Teme, and through Pensax tunnel, 3,850 yards long.
