MACCLESFIELD, BOLLINGTON, and MARPLE RAILWAY, a railway in Cheshire; from Macclesfield, north-north-eastward, through Bollington, to Marple. It was authorized in July 1864, on a capital of £200,000 in shares, and £66,600 in loans; and it is allied to the North Staffordshire and to the Manchester and Sheffield, each subscribing to it £80,000. Its length is 10½ miles
