Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for ISERTKELLY, or DYSERTKELLY

ISERTKELLY, or DYSERTKELLY, a parish, in the barony of LOUGHREA, county of GALWAY, and province of CONNAUGHT, 7 ½ miles (S. W.) from Loughrea on the road to Gort; containing 282 inhabitants. Here is Castleboy, the seat of R. Persse, Esq., in whose demesne are the ruins of an ancient castle in good preservation. It is a vicarage, in the diocese of Kilmacduagh, forming part of the union of Killinane; the rectory is appropriate to the see. The tithes amount to £34, of which £6 is payable to the Ecclesiastical Commissioners, and the remainder to the vicar.
