Rona.-- island, Portree par., Inverness-shire, between Skye island and the mainland, 11½ miles NE. of Portree, pop. 176; is 4 ¾ miles long and 1 ¼ mile at the broadest, and has an extreme alt. of 404 ft.; on NE. point is a lighthouse 42 ft. high, with flashing light (South Rona) 222 ft. above high water and seen 21 miles.
