Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for St Cleer

St Cleer, par. and vil., Cornwall - par. (partly within the mun. limits of Liskeard), 11,263 ac., pop. 2865; vil., 2½ miles N. of Liskeard; P.O.; is situated in a district of great archaeological interest; the church is very ancient, and there is a ruined chapel, and a wayside cross 9 ft. high; copper and lead mines are in the neighbourhood. St Cleer Down is 750 ft. high.
