Kingstanley, par. and vil., Gloucestershire, on Stroudwater Canal, 3½ miles SW. of Stroud, 1563 ac., pop. 2117; P.O., T.O.; is a place of considerable antiquity, has some remains of a Roman camp, and is said to have been a residence of the Mercian kings. The inhabitants are for the most part engaged in the mfr. of cloth. Near the vil. is Kingstanley Park, seat.
