Dalry.-- town and par. with ry. sta., in co. and 17½ m. miles NW. of Ayr, 22½ SW. of Glasgow, 70 SW. of Edinburgh, and 393 NW. of London -- par., 19,284 ac., pop. 10,215; town, pop. 5010; P.O., T.O., 3 Banks; has woollen and worsted mills, an oil and stearine factory, &c., and is the seat of business for the great neighbouring ironworks of Blair and Glengarnock.
