Powderham.-- par. and vil., Devon - par., 1947 ac., pop. 280; vil., on W. side of estuary of river Exe, 6½ miles SE. of Exeter; Powderham Castle, seat of the Earl of Devon, is an ancient Norman edifice, situated in a finely wooded park sloping to the Exe.
