Morar, dist., W. coast of Inverness-shire, on the Sound of Sleat and Loch Nevis; is 19 miles long anil from 4 to 9 miles broad, and is peopled mainly b/ Roman Catholics; Loch Morar, which divides the dist. lengthwise into 2 nearly equal sections (N. and S. Morar), is 12 miles long, and from ½ mile to 2 miles broad; a stream, of only a few furlongs in length, flows from the W. extremity of the loch into a small bay. North Morar is in Glenelg par., and South Morar in that of Ardnamurchan.
