Lugar, vil. with ry. sta., Auchinleck par., Ayrshire, on Lugar Water, 1½ mile NE. of Cumnock, pop. 1353; P.O., T.O.; has extensive ironworks; Lugar Water, formed by the confluence of Gass Water and Glenmore Water, flows 12½ miles NW. to river Ayr 1½ mile S. of Mauchline.
