Kildonan, hamlet and seat, at SE. extremity of Arran island, Buteshire, 8 miles S. of Lamlash; P.O.; on a precipitous sea-cliff is an old square tower, Kildonan Castle, originally a Dalriadan fortalice; around the cliff is Kildonan Plain, with stone circle.
