Barton-on-Humber, market town with ry. sta., in pars. of B. St Mary and St Peter, N. Lincolnshire, 6 m. SW. of Hull; pop. 5339; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank.Market-day, Monday. Has mfrs. of brick, tile, pottery, sailcloth; trade in corn and malt. There are two interesting churches -- St Peter's (1100) and St Mary's (1400).
