Bagenalstown, market town, Dunleckney par., on river Barrow, in co. and 10 miles SW. of Carlow, and 67 miles SW. of Dublin by rail -- township, 472 ac., pop. 2141; named after the Bagenal family of Dunleckney; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank. Market-day, Saturday. There are extensive granite quarries, and several large corn and flour mills in the vicinity.
