Kilchurn Castle, at NE. end of Loch Awe, Argyllshire, 2½ miles W. of Dalmally; was founded in 1440 by Sir Colin Campbell, ancestor of the Breadalbane family, was garrisoned in 1745, and is now one of the finest baronial ruins in the Western Highlands.
