Den, a village of recent and rapid growth in Dalry parish, Ayrshire, 2½ miles NE of Dalry town. At it is Kersland Barony Church of Scotland school, which, with accommodation for 281 children, had (1880) an average attendance of 167, and a grant of £116,3s.
